Get your first gig with Max's Records

For those just starting out it can be often difficult to get the much-needed experience through the first few gigs. There is one particular man in Southampton who is keen to help. Meet Andrzej Batt. He runs Max’s Records and couldn’t be a nicer promoter.

Max’s Records is named after his very adorable son. You may spot Max running around at soundchecks after school. The family vibe definitely runs through the nights with an incredibly friendly atmosphere at all of his gigs.

Max’s Records put on a variety of nights at The Joiners, the Talking Heads, Hamptons and The Railway in Winchester.  Often the line up consists of 6 or more acts, squeezing in a number of acoustic acts at the start. Although they may not be the most high profile shows it’s a great way to get your foot in the door, meet like-minded people and have some fun. If Andrzej likes you, he’ll shout your name from the rooftops, wear your badge and buy you pizza.
