Closing soon! Scottish acts wanted to play as Wide Days launches expanded Talent Development Programme & Showcase

News: 12th December 2022 by Louise Dodgson under Live, Music Training & Careers

Wide Days 2023 will see an unprecedented 14 acts from Scotland showcase at the award-winning music industry convention, which takes place in Edinburgh from 13-15 April. Artists will have the choice of applying for a year-round international talent development programme or a package of activities based around the event.

Supported by PRS Foundation and open to musicians, producers, composers and DJs of all genres, the former includes 2 days of mentoring, regular consultations with industry figures and a slot at the Thursday opening night.

And all acts, including those performing on the Friday, will be offered an advance induction, free convention passes for every band member and an invitation to a special artist brunch. The brunch will be hosted by a BBC presenter and will be an opportunity to connect with artists from outside Scotland, who will be performing at the Festival Takeover on the final night.

Artists on the year-round programme will be selected by over 30 industry and music media figures, including bookers from international events SXSW, ESNS and Future Echoes, who will also be consulted for the Friday showcase.

The development programme includes sessions on promotion, social media, funding opportunities, law, collection societies (PRS, PPL, MCPS), health and practical advice relating to industry and showcase events. Acts are also offered a professional photoshoot, an individual consultation to determine priorities and introductions to professionals taking part in the Wide Days conference.

You can apply to play at Wide Days 2023 now, and the Talent Development Programme is also open now. For more details, check out the link below...
