SoundCloud introduces ads to monetise service & pay royalties to artists

SoundCloud has made some rather large changes this week and introduced advertising to their service in the US as a means to paying royalties onto artists, artists, labels and publishers for plays of their music. They have faced pressure for a while now over their free to listen service - whilst some musicians are happy to share their tracks for free and gain exposure, others were keen to find out when they would be remunerated for streams.
