It's no secret that Spotify's music streaming rates have been a bone of contention for musicians, bands and record labels since the service launched. However, YouTube has also received criticism recently for the rates they pay to record labels and other rightholders. And with musicians now unhappy about the fact that Spotify pays larger rates to labels than to them, it seems that the revenues from digital platforms are under serious scrutiny.
