The PRS and Google have been jointly carrying out research, resulting in a report (see link below) identifying the 6 business models across the web that are guilty of copyright infringement. Amongst the culprits are sites including P2P filesharing platforms, subscription-based filesharing communities, websites offering live TV gateways, and of course, some music websites which accounted for 13%. Whilst some of these sites are no longer profitting from their infringement antics, some are experiencing growth and the findings unearthed by the report should help with identifying how the government should deal with such websites.
