SOPA will not save songwriters

Anti-piracy plans don't seem to be top of the agenda for the US Congress as last Friday they opted to put SOPA and PIPA proposals were put on hold following protests including an online protest from Wikipedia who shut down their web encyclopedia for 24 hours. Protecting the work of rightholders across the web versus censoring online content from the public has been a long discussed argument, but it seems that until a suitable compromise can be reached, the Stop Online Piracy Act will be off the table.
