Over the past years the music video took a dive in popularity. Music fans were no longer being presented with the likes of biopic videos. More often than not a simple live performance was opted for in preference of spending large amounts of record label budget in exchange for a famous name to step up and direct an artist's latest single.
However, in the UK there has been a reported 37 per cent rise in the number of videos watched online, with YouTube carrying the vast majority of the figure, it's no surprise the video sharing website is now lending its popularity to both professional and amateur filmmakers, and the labels are finally beginning to sit up and take notice.
