Festival season is back!

Blog by Molly Jones under Live

Spring may not quite have sprung yet, but the start of festival season is just round the corner here in Manchester (horrah!).

Sounds From The Other City returns to Salford on 1st May, with promoters Now Wave, Comfortable on a Tightrope, High Voltage, Hey! Manchester, Trash-O-Rama, Wot God Forgot, Postcards From Manchester, Helmets For Men, Paradox, Hear Here, Bad Uncle, Fat Out Till You Pass Out and MIE Music all representing across various unconventional venues.

And why not treat yourself to a weekend in the country too?  On the 21st and 22nd May, the first ever Friends Of Mine Festival take place in the grounds of stately home Capesthorne Hall in Macclesfield with a line up headlined by The Charlatans and featuring lots of local favourites.

As it always does, the local music scene has rather stagnated over the cold winter months, so it’s time to stretch your gig-going muscle, get back out there and start thinking about how you can get yourself on these line ups next time round…
