Festivals allow music revenues to soar

Festivals allow music revenues to soar

Thanks to a huge upsurge in the popularity of festivals the live music sector has seen a 4% rise in revenues. Quite a nice surprise following last year's festival scene which unfortunately saw some events cancelled and some festival organisers go out of business altogether.

There is certainly a great buzz surrounding festivals these days with the big boys such as Glastonbury, V Festival and Leeds & Reading selling out in hours before full line-ups have even been announced. There are also plenty of smaller scale, local events popping up around the UK, plus more festivals tailored to meet speciific musical tastes, giving the general public a greater variety of ways to get their live music kicks.

Sadly, there are still some festivals struggling to make ends meet and we're sorry to hear that this year's Glade Festival will be cancelled, but fingers crossed for a defiant return next year.
