HMV report 10% like-for-like sales drop in 2010 so far

News: 30th April 2010 by Stef Loukes under Selling & Distributing Your Music

HMV Group saw a fall of more than 10% in the first four months of 2010 - in both HMV and Waterstones stores. What was the blame? Chief Exec Simon Fox blames the bad weather at the start of the year, keeping customers at home, as well as cuts in promotions. With future re-releases of Avatar as well as releases on DVD including Sherlock Holmes, Toy Story 3 as well as new albums from Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Cheryl Cole - the group may claw back the lost ground so far.
