Music Venue Trust call for action as 120 UK grassroots venue close in 2023

As sad news of the closure of music venue Moles is announced, just one of 120 grassroots gig venues to shut its doors in 2023, the Music Venue Trust have called for action.
Considered the research & development area of the music industry, grassroots gig venues play an essential role in allowing emerging artists to start their career and hone their craft. The Music Venue Trust are now calling on UK politicians to support a compulsory levy on ticket sales for shows and evens with a capacity of over 5,000 people, in order to provide vital financial assistance to grassroots venues.
