Dawsons Music and Studio D team up to launch Db20 competition with great prizes up for grabs!

News: 10th September 2020 by Stef Loukes under Recording & Production

The rollercoaster of emotions and events that is the year 2020 has affected companies and employees across all sectors around the world. It has been well documented that artists and musicians, as well as engineers and technicians, have been hit particularly hard across the events and music industry. Guidelines such as social distancing measures put a hiatus on gigs and festivals, as well as making it improbable for bands to meet up and jam.

As an intrinsic part of the music industry for over 120 years, Dawsons Music & Sound Ltd want to play their part in offering hope for young artists during this period of uncertainty. In partnership with Yamaha and Aston Microphones, the Db20 by Studio D competition aims to seek out like-minded young musicians and ignite the creative spark that comes through musical collaboration.

Young artists aged 18 to 24 years old from across the UK & Ireland are invited to submit original compositions across a selection of instruments including Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Keys, Drums, and Brass/Wind. Entries will be made in the form of video performances, which will then be reviewed by members of the Dawsons Music & Sound Ltd team. From these entries, 12 finalists will be chosen where 6 winners will be determined by a panel of judges.

Prizes

6 x Winners will each receive:

* £1,000 worth of Dawsons Music & Sound Ltd vouchers applicable on Yamaha, Ampeg or Line 6 products

* Aston Element Microphone bundle which launches later this year PLUS Halo Reflection Filter

6 x Runners-up will each receive:

* £250 worth of Dawsons Music & Sound Ltd vouchers applicable on Yamaha, Ampeg, or Line 6 products
