It has been confirmed by Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden that the first segment of the government's cultural COVID rescue package of £1.57 billion will be distributed out to live music venues to secure their survival.

£2.25 million has been allocated towards supporting venues at risk of imminent collapse, and the funding should extend to helping 150 gig venues across the UK.

Festivals are also relieved to find out that they will be covered by the government's rescue package as Art Council England unveiled their guidelines for the Culture Recovery Fund.
