Ultimate line-up locked in for major UK music conference

News: 21st November 2018 by Louise Dodgson under Music Training & Careers

The second wave of speakers has been announced for this year’s show-stopping Ultimate Seminar, including Lateral MGMT’s Jamie Binns, manager for Paloma Faith and RAYE, Fredo manager and Since ‘93 Co-President Riki Bleau, and Camille Purcell, songwriter for Rihanna, Little Mix and Clean Bandit (full list below).

Jamie Binns will be sharing his experience of working with mega-stars Paloma Faith and RAYE on the ‘Cre8ive Breakers’ panel, where the leaders of today discuss how to make it in the music industry. Meanwhile, Since ‘93 Co-President and Founder Riki Bleau will reveal the best practice in the industry in ‘The 3 Disciplines in Business’, and Camille Purcell will be sharing her experience of quitting her job as a City stockbroker to pen global hits for the likes of Rihanna and Little Mix on the ‘PRS – The Hot 1s’ panel.

From leading executives Amber Davis (A&R Director, Warner/Chappell Music UK) and Simon Aldridge (Head of Writer Relations, PRS) to radio presenter Manny Norte (Capital XTRA), the newly announced speakers will take part in a day of cutting-edge talks and panels that address the rapidly changing landscape of the music industry and how to succeed in it. This year attendees will also have the unique opportunity to chat one-on-one with industry experts from Believe and Cantine, and participate in speed networking sessions.

The second wave speakers join the likes of RCA’s David Dollimore, Virgin EMI’s Rob Pascoe, Grammy and Ivor Novello-winning songwriter Cass Lowe and singer and songwriter Etta Bond to help empower and mobilise young creatives to take the steps towards fulfilling their musical aspirations.

Organised by Cre8ing Vision in association with the University of Westminster, The Ultimate Seminar is the leading free leading music industry seminar in Europe, offering attendees peerless insight into all aspects of the business. In support of the event, Virgin EMI President Ted Cockle said: “The Ultimate Seminar has become a major honeypot for so much fresh new talent, both as artists and future executives in the years that it has been running. It is a totally unique environment in which aspiring characters can learn so much, hear so much advice and really begin to shape their view on pushing the industry forward. Buckle up folks, November 24th is when this year’s Seminar rollercoaster takes off!”

Cre8ing Vision founders Kwame Kwaten, Nicola Charles and Andrea Euell add: “For us, The Ultimate Seminar is a beautifully cyclical event – those that sit in the audience to learn are often those that are sat on a panel a couple of years later recounting what they learnt. While we work hard to make it happen, it never feels like work. Year-on-year we see the success stories rising and the passion that young creatives have, and it’s these people who inspire us to keep going and provide a seminar that is free and accessible to all.”

The Ultimate Seminar is supported by Arts Council England and sponsored by BMI, RCA, Ministry of Sound, PRS, Island Records, Virgin EMI Records, Polydor Records, Parlophone Records, Capitol Records, Believe, Cantine, Spitfire Audio and PPL.
