Goverment strengthens secondary ticketing regulations

News: 16th February 2018 by Louise Dodgson under Live

As of April 2018 some new regulations for the secondary ticketing market will come into play introduced by the Department For Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy this week. Firstly, ticketing platforms and sellers will be required to provide more information regarding resold event tickets, ultimately protecting consumers from being ripped off.

Secondly, the secondary ticketing websites will have to disclose details of any restrictions that apply to using the ticket e.g. whether the ticket is tied to an identified individual through a credit card purchase.

At the same time, Google has clamped down in recent days, insisting that secondary ticketing sites now must carry a disclaimer at the top of the website to warn visitors it is not the primary seller of tickets.
