UK music industry joins forces for Agent Of Change initiative to save live music venues

Yesterday, the UK music industry and artists gathered in Westminster as part of the addition of Agent Of Change principle to amend the law to help protect our live music venues, 35% of which have sadly closed in the past decade.

The law would mean developers have to take into account existing businesses, such as live music venues, when planning new developments. As well as the music industry and bands themselves, it has the backing of UK Music CEO Michael Dugher, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Music Venue Trust, Musicians' Union and many more organisations.

The bill will receive a second reading in Parliament next week, and we've got everything crossed for it to work its way to being passed. This could be a huge step in preserving the UK's grassroots gig venues and enviable reputation for nurturing musical talent. Read more about Agent Of Change via the links below...
