Focus Wales announces music industry speakers for 2018 event

FOCUS Wales returns in 2018 and will take place over 10th-12th May. The event has become Wales’ biggest music industry showcase event, with 3 days of panels, keynote talks, and industry advice. The 2018 festival will see over 100 music industry professionals delegates descend upon Wrexham from around the world, and the first speakers to be announced are: 

SOL PARKER (CODA Agency), BEV BURTON (CAMBRIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL), CAL MCRAE (VICE), KAPTIN BARRET (BOOMTOWN FAIR), DIJANA LAKUS (GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL), RO CEMM (THE LINE OF BEST FIT) JOE FRANKLAND (PRSF), MAR SELLARS (MAR ON MUSIC), ROSA BICKERTON (BRITISH COUNCIL), CAI TREFOR (GIGWISE), DOM GOURLAY (DROWNED in SOUND), PHYLICIA CHONG (SECRET ROAD), FEEDY FRIZZI (MOSHI MOSHI), BART van HAARE (DOUBLE VEE), ANASTASIA CONNOR (SONG BY TOAD), EDDIE BARCAN (SPLENDID EVENTS), GLENN DICKIE (SOUNDS AUSTRALIA), GUGAI MacNAMARA (STRANGE BREW), ELUNED HÂF (WALES ARTS INTERNATIONAL), JOHN HYWEL MORRIS (PRS FOR MUSIC), GEOFF TRIO (AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK) with many more still to be announced in the coming months.

FOCUS Wales 2018 will mark the festival's 8th edition at a new location - Wrexham’s brand new multi-million pound arts centre Tŷ Pawb! Tŷ Pawb will house a greater programme of panels, B2B’s, keynote talks, workshops, arts events, and film screenings. The festival will welcome over 8,000 people to the town, building upon 2017s record attendance across a jam-packed weekend of events. Among the first acts to be announced for the festival are KATE RUSBY, JANE WEAVER, 9BACH, DAMO SUZUKI, GALLOPS, CaStLeS, MAMMOTH WEED WIZARD BASTARD.

The festival provides innumerable opportunities for budding musicians to connect with high profile industry bodies, perform to new music fans, participate in panel discussions, and essentially kick start their careers in the music industry. Applications to perform at the festival are now open for UK and international artists via the FOCUS Wales website.
