The AIM Academy's latest initiative is 'Understanding The Live Industry' - an essential course for those wishing to understand how the Live industry works at a practical level and how to engage with it.

They will  be focusing many of the challenges labels, artists and managers face in building a Live profile with 2 guest speakers who are established professionals in the live industry.
 
Sunny Jaspal was formerly Head of Touring at CATO. She is now the tour manager for, amongst others, Katy B & Aloe Blacc. Sunny will guide us through the logistics of touring. From planning, contracts, advancing, budgeting and the actual dates she will provide insights on how to plan a successful tour on a budget. Sunny will also share her experiences of UK and International touring and the potential upsides and challenges of taking an artist on the road.
 
Jason Edwards is a Booking Agent at Coda Agency one of the most highly regarded and respected UK booking agencies. Jason has a wealth of indie experience working with artists from various genres and now represents, amongst others, Years & Years, Grimes and Spring King.
 
Jason will discuss the realities of achieving many a labels ambition - getting a booking agent. He will share the expectations of booking agents, how they discover their acts and the art of developing a live career for an artist.
 
In addition Sunny and Jason will explain the relationships between those involved in the Live Industry and the wider music industry, the importance of coherent promotional planning around the tour, and the revenue streams that touring now offer.
 
The course will take place on the evening of Tuesday 4th Octoberth 2016 at 6.30pm in London. The location will be confirmed to meet demand but will be in London and within easy reach of tube and bus services.
