UK small music venues under threat

News: 25th September 2015 by Louise Dodgson under Live

As music players and lovers we're all aware of at least one much loved gig venue local to us that has shut down in recent years. In London alone over the past 10 years 40% of small music venues have closed their doors which has led the Music Venue Trust to investigate further. Their findings are due to be unveiled in October with the purpose of creating solutions as to how live music venues can be protected.

Check out this report below from BBC Newsbeat on the matter with comments from Foals and Wolf Alice, plus The Joiners music venue in Southampton to shed more light on what can be done.
