YouTube has this week unveiled its new subscription service Music Key which will allow users to watch music videos without ads and also download content to view offline. Costing £9.99 per month, there should be a decent catalogue of music to choose from with all 3 major labels cooperating with the service, plus hundreds of independent labels too. Will this prove to be serious competition for Spotify, Deezer et al? Currently in a 6 month beta period, time will tell whether YouTube's Music Key will take off.
