SoundCloud makes moves to monetise

SoundCloud have been making some changes behind the scenes of late, including finalising deals with major labels over licensing rights to keep hosting songs, and offering them a small stake in the business. They've also recently updated their mobile app and in the US are "experimenting with different monetization approaches" as SoundCloud co-founder Eric Wahlforss puts it. Watch this space but it looks like SoundCloud could transform in the near future from a platform for uploading and sharing music to a monetised streaming model.
