Spotify hit £10 million paid users & YouTube anger independent labels

Spotify unveiled news this week that they have topped 10 million paid users of their music streaming service worldwide. Only launched back in 2008 there is no doubting that they've come a long way in a very rapid amount of time. Also in the news this week on a music streaming front is YouTube who, just like the aforementioned Spotify bunch, are no strangers to criticism on the small royalties they pay per stream. Following plans for YouTube's proposed new fully-fledged streaming service, the independent labels have hit back against the video giant's ambitions and their approach. So the talks and negotiations continue...
