Music Producers Guild to host an East Midlands Speakeasy

News: 14th January 2014 by Louise Dodgson under Music Training & Careers, Recording & Production

The Music Producers Guild is holding its first East Midlands Speakeasy of 2014 on Wednesday 22nd January at the Mezz Lounge, The Broadway, Nottingham. Doors open at 6 pm and everyone is welcome – entry is free and you do not need to be an MPG member to attend.

After the success of the last event in November, MPG Board Member Mick Glossop said: “It was extremely gratifying to witness the enthusiastic support demonstrated. The MPG is run by volunteers who are all working recording professionals. We are conscious that the MPG is occasionally perceived as, and is in fact, quite London-centric. However, we are very keen to develop regional MPG “communities” to represent and support those who are working in music production throughout the UK.”

John Paul Braddock, MPG East Midlands coordinator, says: “Speakeasy events are a great opportunity to network drawing working professionals from across the region. As many producer and engineers work in isolation, they provide a chance to meet, exchange stories, discuss problems and develop new ideas and partnerships.”

Basic membership of the MPG is free and gives members access to the main MPG news source. Anyone wanting to join can do so by following the link below.

For more information about the Speakeasy please contact John Paul Braddock at [email protected] or visit the MPG website.
