The recent demise of major music retail chain HMV is definitely causing a shake up in the music industry. However, these changes could spell good news for the independent music retailers and record shops who have been struggling against the weight of HMV and supermarkets over the years.

This article in The Independent interviews Rough Trade founder Geoff Travis, who set up their record store back in 1976. Whilst he is sorry to see HMV go, he feels that this may create many new and valuable  opportunities for smaller music retailers. Read all about it below...
