BBC Introducing shows synchronised to Saturdays

News: 20th December 2012 by Louise Dodgson under Media

The BBC have decided to move all slots for regional BBC Introducing shows across the UK to the same slot on Saturday evenings at 8pm. These shows have long been known for championing new music and highlighting local scenes so whilst there is some concern that people are less likely to listen on a Saturday evening when they have other plans, this combined move should provide some unity to the regional shows and the BBC have commented that they hope they will "be able to give the Introducing programmes on each of our 39 stations a higher profile which in turn will benefit the local acts.”  We hope so too!
