Born To Be Wide is to host a talk show at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus on 6th December with 3 generations of Scottish music industry figures taking part and several musical interludes. The evening will raise funds for the artist showcases at next year’s Wide Days convention, and details of the event will be revealed.
Talk show interview guests include veteran manager and resident heckler, Bruce Findlay, and BBC Introducing presenter and Detour co-founder, Ally McCrae. An additional speaker is expected to be confirmed next week.
Panda Su, Stanley Odd and Donna Maciocia with Austen George, will each play 2 songs. The talk show will be followed by DJ sets by the speakers and some of the artists.
“This is a great opportunity to get different perspectives on the music business, hear some of the great acts who have previously played at our events and help make the next Wide Days even better,” says Born To Be Wide director, Olaf Furniss, who will be presenting the evening.
Launched in 2010, Wide Days is central Scotland’s only music business conference, and in addition to attracting leading industry speakers, the event provides a showcase platform to emerging artists. Acts who have played at previous events include PAWS, Rachel Sermanni, FOUND, Meursault, Stanley Odd, Honeyblood and Withered Hand.
The event is organised by Born To Be Wide, a not-for-profit organisation which was recently granted Community Interest Company status.
