As Benji Rogers of Pledge Music points out, selling music to the masses has become a constant and tired stream of "Pre-order my album. Buy my album. Have you bought my album?" with social media added to the equation to offer sneak previews, album premieres and other 'exclusive' goodies. This is all well & good, but for die-hard fans perhaps it would be nicer for a more personal touch, rather than the intensive sell! Benji suggests that it may be time for artists to sell directly to their fans and record labels to sell to the consumers at large.
