Nationwide search for best unsigned Blues musicians

News: 24th October 2012 by Louise Dodgson under Live

The New Brunswick Battle of the Blues 2013 is now open to entrants from around the UK. Unsigned Blues musicians including bands, duos and singer songwriters have until the end of November to sign up for this potentially career-changing competition.

Heats will be held across the country at:
The True Blues Club, Newton Le Willows, Lancashire on 11th January;
The New Crawdaddy Club, Billericay, Essex on 24th January;
The Brunswick, Hove, West Sussex on 25th January;
The Redcar Blues Club, Redcar & Cleveland on 8th February;
The Blues & Beyond Club, Cupar, Scotland on 23rd February.
Entrants can choose whichever date and location best suits them.

The final will be held in London on 26th March and the eventual winner will be taken to play main stage at the highly prestigious Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in Sept 2013.  Flights and all expenses will be paid by the organisers and the winner will receive £1,000.  Plus, in addition to playing to one of the world’s largest audience of Blues aficionados and professionals, the winning artist/s will be able to sample some of the major attractions of New Brunswick: whale-watching, wonderful cuisine and incredible scenery.

Interested Blues musicians are invited to register initially at the website below before 30th November 2012.  Artists will need to demonstrate the ability to produce new and original work, though some covers are permitted.  To qualify, they will need to be unsigned at the time of the competition (including the final).
