Win an opening slot at Manchester charity event

News: 5th October 2012 by Louise Dodgson under Live

In this competition, exclusive to The Unsigned Guide, one lucky band or artist will be given the opportunity to be the opening act at upcoming ‘Word Of Mouth’ event, organised by charity MaK, Manchester Aid to Kosovo. Other acts on the bill are yet to be confirmed but will come from MaK's large pool of affiliated Manchester artists including Doves, Elbow, Badly Drawn Boy, Mr Scruff, Ian Brown, Liam Frost, The Travelling Band, I Am Kloot, Jim Noir and Stephen Fretwell, amongst others.

To enter, just email an MP3 or link to streamable music, along with a short biog to [email protected] by Monday 22nd October. Acts can be from anywhere around the country, but would need to be able to provide own travel arrangements/costs due to this being a charity event. The winning act will be selected by the MaK team and notified by email.

Manchester Aid to Kosovo (MaK) is a charity which has supported recovery in Kosovo since 1999. MaK receives a third of its income from the Manchester music industry. MaK has produced two albums of Manchester music 'Cohesion' (2001) and ‘Ten’ (2011) and presented many concerts, featuring the aforementioned artists.
