Music trends amongst teenagers have been studied and surveyed by Nielsen and have unearthed some surprising and some less surprising results about how the next generation consumes music.

YouTube came up tops as the medium for listening to music, so you'd think CDs may be well and truly out of the window, however CDs are still used by 50% of teens. Only a small proportion of teenagers are indulging in the naughty act of music sharing and the results also showed that teens are the most likely of all the age groups to have purchased music in the past year.
