Musicians getting short end of Olympics straw?

The Musicians' Union and Incorporated Society of Musicians of just a couple of many organisations who are objecting to the way bands and artists requested to play at the forthcoming Olympics celebrations are being treated. So far the conditions appear to be that musicians must play for free to be involved for free, or for a nominal fee of £50 per act, per hour. When you think of that in terms of a 5 piece band that equates to £10 per band member for an hour set, not much to write home about!

Below is a selection of articles and interesting commentary about the whole Olympics scenario, plus there's a petition instigated by Incorporated Society of Musicians to ensure musicians are paid what they deserve at this year's event. Show your support!
