BPI & record labels go after major torrent sites

News: 5th July 2012 by Louise Dodgson under

Fuelled by their success at obtaining a court order requesting that UK internet service providers should take action to block The Pirate Bay, the BPI are now continuing their battle against music piracy on behalf of their record label members and aim to achieve the same results against other major torrent sites such as Demonoid, TorrentReactor and ExtraTorrent.

However, just because the BPI managed to get the wheels in motion to block The Pirate Bay it doesn't mean they haven't come up against obstacles along the way, as The Pirate Bay has sneakily created new IP addresses to stay one step ahead of blocking attempts. Let's hope the BPI have a less challenging ride against their latest targets.
