Beach Break Live slot up for grabs to best student band

News: 14th March 2012 by Louise Dodgson under Live

studentbeans.com, the UK’s leading student website is launching the next installment of it’s Battle of the Bands competition to find the best student band in the UK.

studentbeans.com is inviting bands from universities across the UK to submit an original track for the chance to play at Beach Break Live, on the same bill as Chase & Status, Dizzee Rascal and Friendly Fires.

Every band that enters will be in with a chance of winning - it all comes down to the public vote. When the voting period opens on 12th March, bands will have to drum up votes from friends, course mates and even get their whole university involved. Each week a certain number of bands will be eliminated from the competition and bands must make sure they have the highest amount of votes to avoid the drop.

Oliver Brann, Editor at studentbeans.com says, “University is where new bands are often formed and we are excited to see what talent is out there this year. The result is up to the student population of Britain to decide, there are no judges favourites and no bias towards genres. It’s amazing to think the winning band will be playing on the same bill as world famous music artists, so we look forward to the competition hotting up and crowning someone the best student band in the country!”

Last year’s competition saw over 150 bands enter and over 10,000 votes registered. This year’s competition is set to be bigger and better.
