Is Waterstones sale enough to save HMV?
News: 24th May 2011 by Louise Dodgson under Selling & Distributing Your Music

Last week HMV owner Simon Fox sold off the Waterstones part of his chain for £53 million to a Russian billionaire, leaving Fox with some cash to try and reduce some of the revenue he has borrowed from the banks in order to keep the music retail chain afloat. There seems to be doubt as to whether he can do enough to keep the chain running which has suffered several profit warnings this year alone. Other plans he has up his sleeve include rolling out increased space in-store for technology sales such as iPods, games consoles and so on which has apparently received a good response in 6 stores that are trialing the idea.
