BBC makes large online cutbacks

Obviously, cuts in the BBC's online spending can only result in the unfortunate loss of some of the public service's websites and, of course, related jobs. Recent reports declare that 200 websites will be shut down, resulting in a loss of around 360 jobs.

Sites to be axed will include youth sites Switch and Blast, video documentary site Video Nation, and radio content on iPlayer will also be dropped, along with the iPlayer message board. Sad times, indeed...
