SSR London launches the Ian Brown Scholarship

News: 17th January 2011 by Louise Dodgson under Music Training & Careers, Recording & Production

SSR, the UK’s award winning audio engineering and music production school, is celebrating its opening in London with the launch of the ‘Ian Brown Scholarship’.

The scholarship is worth £10,000 which will pay the fees for SSR’s flagship ‘Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology’ course at the London campus in Camden, starting March or September 2011.

Ian Brown has enjoyed an incredible career in music as lead singer with seminal Manchester band The Stone Roses and as a solo artist releasing 7 solo albums. Ian’s links with SSR stretch back to the early days when it operated as Spirit Studios.
The Ian Brown Scholarship will support one talented, creative and ambitious individual who has the potential to offer something special to the industry.

“It is an honour for me to be supporting SSR London and the next generation of talented producers and engineers being taught there. I have a long history with SSR from the early days recording with the Stone Roses and I hope the scholarship inspires the next generation of talented producers and artists.”

“Ian Brown is an iconic figure in the industry. He has written and produced inspirational music with powerful lyrics. It is an honour and a privilege that he is offering his support to SSR and we are so excited at the unique opportunities that this scholarship can offer.”
