It has become gradually more obvious over the past couple of years that guitar bands have been replaced by X Factor and other pop acts in the charts. So, unsurprisingly the new acts are finding it particularly tricky to breakthrough to the mainstream. Radio plays a huge part in what music is propelled into the charts, so is the problem that the major UK stations are not giving enough airtime to guitar bands?
