CMU to take charge of Great Escape convention programming

News: 2nd December 2010 by Louise Dodgson under Live, Music Training & Careers

The Great Escape is Brighton's own answer to the likes of South By Southwest, Midem, and all the other overseas music business conventions. Although it's a great opportunity to check out the best new bands in the UK, the panels, keynote speakers and workshops can provide a really valuable insight into how the music industry works and what forward thinking bands and artists can do to further their careers.

So, to give this aspect of the convention a big ole shake up, the Great Escape have teamed up with music news service CMU to inject some new life into the business side of the proceedings. Not only are CMU a music news service, but for years they have provided training courses and workshops for music industry professionals, so they certainly have their finger on the pulse in terms of the ever-changing music business.

We look forward to seeing the results of CMU's shake up, and they are welcoming input from anyone else involved in the world of music as to what topics and discussion points they would like to see broached at 2011's event.
