Apple finally snares The Beatles catalogue

I'm positive you are already aware of this news, but just in case you have been under a rock for the past 24 hours...or perhaps you were so swamped with news of the royal wedding that this passed you by. After many years of rifts and wrangling The Beatles have now reached an agreement with Apple for all 17 of their albums to be distributed digitally via iTunes.

I have lost count of the amount of times I have seen '...long & winding road...' '...come together...' and '...Beatles for sale...' in the headlines yesterday and this morning. In some respects it is a big deal, but I can't help but wonder how many Beatles fans already have all the albums they need. All that remains to be seen now is whether The Beatles will enter into the album charts via downloads over the coming weeks...
