Study to work in A&R

News: 15th November 2010 by Louise Dodgson under Music Publishing, Music Training & Careers, Record Labels

Of course, there a lot of music fans out there that would love a career in A&R. It has long been the most enticing of music career options with an image of endless gigging, boozing and schmoozing. But there is quite a lot more to it, and BIMM (Brighton & Bristol Institutes of Modern Music) have decided it's about time that those who endeavour to take this career path a bit more seriously can learn all they need to know about it.

The year long BIMM A&R Music Business Apprenticeship will run from BIMM's newly acquired Tech Music School in London beginning in April 2011. A&R has long been a field that people have stumbled into, but is now recognised as an area that requires proper training if artists are to receive the development and supportive relationship they require to sustain a long term existence in today's music industry.
