Ministry Of Sound piracy battle shot down

News: 5th November 2010 by Louise Dodgson under Record Labels, Selling & Distributing Your Music

Ministry Of Sound have been forced to throw in the towel for now on their fight against piracy as BT has deleted the filesharers' details. They had identified about 25,000 alleged filesharers and their next action was to send a letter demanding compensation, although these plans were knocked on the head when they discovered that details of 20,000 of these users had been deleted by BT. To deal with the remaining 5,000 will not be worth the cost of implementing the legal process.

However, Ministry Of Sound remain undeterred and aim to continue their battle and will be approaching other ISPs to gain information to stop the illegal sharing of the label's releases.
