New online mixing & mastering service launched

Top UK and US engineers have combined their strength to launch Online Music Mixing, a new online mixing and mastering service that provides direct access for labels and artists to some of the best production talent in the industry.

The line-up features such well-respected engineers as Chris Brown, ex-senior engineer at Abbey Road whose credits include Radiohead, Muse and The Beatles.  Nick Terry, whose credits include Simian Mobile Disco, The Libertines and The Klaxons and Dave Pemberton, who has worked closely with The Prodigy, Orbital, The Ting Tings and Goldfrapp.

For mastering, OMM have partnered with the world renowned Masterdisk in NYC.  We now represent, amongst others, Howie Weinberg who mastered genre-defining albums such as Nirvana’s Nevermind, classics like Sonic Youth’s Daydream nation and recent hits like Gorillaz’ Plastic Beach.

Daniel Hulme, MD of Online Music Mixing, said: “Technology-enabled services such as online mastering have changed the landscape of the music business. OMM has now taken this one step further by creating a means for everyone, from major and independent labels to unsigned artists funding their own projects, to access industry-leading mix and mastering talent at affordable prices.”

Clients can tailor the service to their own requirements by requesting a specific engineer and then choosing from a range of service levels and price points. They are also encouraged to provide extensive notes and references when they upload their session files. “Effective information exchange is critical to the quality of the end product, so we make sure the engineer is always available to chat if necessary,” Daniel Hulme adds. “Our aim is to create a one-to-one dialogue between client and engineer, even though the service is provided remotely. We also send a proof of the mix before completion, so any final adjustments can be made.”
