Illegal downloaders in Ireland will not be cut off

The plans of the music and film industries to cut pirates off at their source, by enforcing ISPs to disconnect their internet connection, have fallen flat in Ireland. This is following a ruling by the High Court when Irish internet provider UPC took legal action against copyright owners.

This could prove to be a bad omen for copyright holders who are hoping to roll this strategy out across other countries...
