The survival of many music start-ups relys on copyright permission and licensing agreements from an apprehensive music industry. Making music start-ups tricky to sustain, not to mention getting an online service off the ground in the first place. The likes of Grooveshark only managed to strike a deal with EMI when the major label sued them. So to say the ground on which music start-ups are treading is rickety it quite an understatement.
