The I AM Awards will give musicians the foundation and training they need to create and enhance their ‘x-factor’ throughout the awards. Through public voting, artists that reach the panel of choice stage, will be presented by a 4 person panel, made up of notables from all areas of the music industry. Founder and Managing Director of the I AM Awards, Leanne Page commented "Making a difference and giving artist's an access to power within the industry is one of my passions and the I AM Awards will do just that. Through the I AM Awards there will be a shift in the definition of success amongst musicians and music lovers across the UK and beyond. You can be unsigned and successful - and ultimately, you retain the creative control and drive your own career. It’s about opportunities and empowerment.”
UK Hip Hop Artist, Smiler, commented; "As independent artists, without the backing of a major label, there are a lot of things that we need to do ourselves to promote our art and build up a fan base. The internet has opened doors for the independent artist and has revolutionised how the music industry works -in terms of promotion and distribution. It has made the concept of being unsigned and successful a reality and an Award ceremony such as the I AM Awards, will further promote the cause and elevate our status within the industry."
