Social media has revolutionised the music world. Not only in terms of artists connecting with their fans, where they can easily give fans a priviledged inside glimpse of their life, whilst simultaneously allowing them to plug new releases, gigs and the like.

In terms of discovering and recommending music the changes which social media has brought about were near impossible to imagine a decade ago. The Guardian article below investigates the huge impact that social technology has made on today's music business.
