Spotify reaches 500k paying subscribers

In preparation for its rollout into the American and Japanese markets, Spotify has revealed that it now has 500k paying subscribers - largely in thanks to the function it plays in the mobile sector. Currently a premium subscription costs just £9.99 a month, allowing the user unlimited advert free access to it's services.

Coupled with this, is a really interesting breakdown from Paid Content which shows how Spotify fares up against the competition.
