Labels embrace the realm of gaming

Initially some record labels were reluctant to accommodate the realm of gaming, but many have changed their tune over the past few years. With the likes of Rockband, Guitar Hero and Singstar all taking off massively, music games can open even more doors for artists and labels. In some cases, artists are being requested by game-makers to write music specifically for games which can help propel bands bubbling underground into the mainstream.

So there is no doubt that games are now an important income stream for record companies, and the article below demonstrates how the labels have altered their perception over the years.
