Embrace the age of independents

Last week AIM held their annual general meeting featuring none other than Jarvis Cocker as guest speaker. Obviously the topic of 6Music was much discussed and, whilst many were hoping that Jarvis' appearance would deliver good news about the future of the station, it would seem the jury is still out on the decision over whether 6Music will continue.

AIM chief, Alison Wenham, was keen to focus on the success of independent record labels and is very hopeful for their future. As major labels are gradually transformed into major entertainment companies in order to stay afloat this could be the perfect time for the independents to shine.
