Shake up at the top at EMI

EMI continue to battle against their debts and their latest strategy has been to review some of the positions held on their board. This re-shuffle seems to have come out of the blue, and is as much of a shock to the major label's investors as the rest of EMI. This has left the role of executive chairman Charles Allen, who is pretty much new to the role having only been appointed in March 2010, as redundant although he will still remain in touch with the label in the capacity of an adviser.
